1. Service provider​

TankoUp is a personal project with no registered legal entity, offered free of charge by its author.

2. Description of the service​

TankoUp is a free fuel price lookup service for petrol stations in Spain, available as:

  • A mobile app for iOS and Android
  • A website accessible from any browser

No registration or account creation is required.

3. Price data: source, updates and limitations​

3.1 Data source​

The fuel prices displayed by TankoUp are sourced from the public API of the Spanish Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge (MITECO), accessible through the Geoportal de Gasolineras. This is official, publicly available information.

3.2 Update frequency​

TankoUp refreshes price data approximately every 30 minutes, in line with the update frequency of the official Ministry feed.

3.3 Indicative nature of prices​

All prices shown are for reference purposes only. The actual price at any given petrol station may differ from what is displayed, for reasons beyond TankoUp's control, including:

  • Price updates by the station not yet reflected in the official feed
  • Errors or delays in the Ministry's data source
  • Promotions, loyalty-card discounts or other station-specific conditions

TankoUp does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness or timeliness of the prices shown. Users should verify the final price at the petrol station before making any decision.

4. Access and use conditions​

  • Access to the service is free and requires no registration.
  • The service is intended for users aged 14 and over. Users under that age must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
  • Use of the service implies acceptance of these Terms in their current version.
  • Permitted use is personal and non-commercial.

5. Prohibited uses​

The following are expressly prohibited:

  • Accessing the service or its systems via automated processes (bots, scrapers, crawlers) without explicit written authorisation.
  • Reusing or redistributing price data for commercial purposes.
  • Reverse engineering the mobile app or the API.
  • Using the service for any illegal or fraudulent activity.
  • Attempting to gain unauthorised access to TankoUp's systems, databases or infrastructure.

6. Intellectual property​

The name TankoUp, its logo, interface design, and the source code of the app and website are the property of their author and are protected under applicable intellectual property law. All rights reserved.

Fuel price data is public information provided by the Spanish Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge (MITECO) and is not owned by TankoUp.

7. Disclaimer and limitation of liability​

To the extent permitted by applicable law, TankoUp shall not be liable for:

  • Financial or other decisions made by the user based on displayed prices.
  • Damages arising from inaccuracy, outdated information or unavailability of Ministry data.
  • Service interruptions due to causes beyond TankoUp's control (Ministry API failures, connectivity issues, maintenance, etc.).
  • Indirect damages, loss of profit, or harm of any kind arising from use or inability to use the service.

8. Service availability​

TankoUp is provided "as is", with no guarantee of continuous availability or service level (SLA). The service may be interrupted, modified or discontinued at any time, with or without notice.

9. Changes to these Terms​

TankoUp may update these Terms of Use at any time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this document always reflects the current version. Continued use of the service after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

10. Governing law, jurisdiction and contact​

These Terms are governed by Spanish law. For disputes involving consumers, the courts of the user's place of domicile shall have jurisdiction, in accordance with EU consumer protection regulations.
